John and Jane receive orders to eliminate one another. During the confrontation, Jane is shot at, resulting in the death of her cat, Max. Meanwhile, John uncovers explosives and tripwires hidden in his mother’s home. They arrange to meet, each pointing fingers at the other for their predicament. In a tense moment, Jane almost kills John with an explosive device, but he manages to escape and pursues her.
